Welcome to Ba Soba, Belfast's first Japanese style noodle bar,
modelled on noodle canteens that have been popular in Japan
for centuries. We specialise in noodle dishes and curries from
across South East Asia offering tastes from countries such as
Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and Burma.

The Menu: Ba Soba brings you the flavours and aromas usually
found at the busy stalls of Bangkok and Penang or the noodle
vendors of Tokyo and Singapore.

Glossary
Soba: the noble noodle of Japan, made from buckwheat.
Udon: the poor working man's noodle, made from wheat flour.
Ramen: Japanese word for chinese noodle.
Tofu: Also known as beancurd, made from soaked,mashed and
strained soya beans.
Miso: A Japanese paste madr from fermented soya beans.
Dashi: The basic stock for miso soup, the flavourings are Kombu
seaweed and dried bonito flakes.
Shoyu: Japanese soy sauce.
Tonkatsu: Japanese sweet and sour sauce.
Wasabi: Japanese horseradish.
